US and British Top Universities Visited

During this week, we are honored to welcome another three top universities from US and UK, including Northumbria University Newcastle, the State University of New York at Buffalo and Foothill and De Anza College.

Northumbria University Newcastle

On November 14, Ms Sohvi Riekkinen, International Recruitment Coordinator for China & East Asia from Northumbria University Newcastle, visited the campus and presented to our secondary students. She gave a lot of useful information, not only about the university itself, but also general messages about how to compare majors and courses of British universities.

University of Northumbria at Newcastle is a university located in Newcastle, England. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) Northumbria University ranked top 50 in the UK for research, demonstrating the biggest rise in research of any UK university.

The State University of New York at Buffalo

On November 18, Mr. Joseph J. Hindrawan, Associate Vice Provost for International Education and Director of International Enrollment Management from the State University of New York at Buffalo paid us a visit and gave an introduction about the school and its enrollment.

The State University of New York at Buffalo is a public research university with campuses in Buffalo and Amherst, New York. It is the de facto flagship campus of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, with the largest enrollment, largest endowment, and research funding as a comprehensive university center in the SUNY system. U.S. News and World Report’s 2020 edition of America’s Best Colleges ranked UB 79th on their list of “Best National Universities”, and 31st among public universities.

Foothill and De Anza College

On November 18, Ms. Marilyn Cheung, Director of International Student Recruitment from two community colleges: Foothill and DeAnza Colleges introduced us a brand new method of college application: 2-year community college plus 2-year bachelor’s degree.

DeAnza College and Foothill College are proud to have many excellent alumni, like Apple’s founder Steve Jobs and UCLA’s Chancellor Gene D. Block. De Anza College consistently ranks #1 or #2 in the state for the total number of students who annually transfer to University of California and California State University. Students from the two colleges also enjoy preferred admission to UCLA and UC Berkeley。

College Counselling Program

BIS is proud to have its special College Counseling Program. The program not only prepares students for academic work at the university level, but also assists students in finding the university with the right fit. Our students are given a lot of opportunities to meet with college admission teams face to face. This semester, we have already welcomed near 20 universities worldwide with more schools continuing to visit.

For senior students, college visits provide not only an opportunity to know specific schools and majors, but also a way for students to discover where their enthusiasms lie and what they truly want to do.
