Secondary Academic Highlight – Music

The music department is happy to share great news – we have a real orchestra at our school! Today it has 36 students and 5 teachers. Students play all kinds of stringed instruments; there are also flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trombone and tubas! The rhythm section includes guitars, Chinese pipa, piano and drums. The guys are very inspired by the orchestra and are engaged in every break, practicing their parts. Playing in an orchestra, the student develops, first of all, basic skills such as a sense of rhythm, timbre, sound balance, structure of a piece of music, articulation, tuning. And what are also very important, young musicians learn to hear each other, and it can be said that the orchestra is one of the most inspiring projects for developing teamwork skills.
