Welcome to B.E. One of Boston Explorers!

We are excited to introduce a new after school enrichment program for the 2019-2020 school year entitled – The Boston Explorers Program (B.E.). B.E. is aimed at providing a variety of activities that include clubs, academic pursuits and sports programs. Students are able to participate in a variety of activities to help them develop and grow the necessary skills and to be successful both inside and outside the classroom. We strongly encourage all students to be ‘Explorers’ and to B.E. everything they can be and to have experiences that will set them on a course well pass their life at BIS.

 

Why B.E.? 

The IB organization strongly encourages students to participate in a wide variety of sports and extra-curricular activities. These activities provide students with additional support structures, and give students a sense of positive self-worth. Students also make connections between their involvement in extra-curricular activities and performing better in their coursework.

We are convinced that the CAS (creativity, activity, service) component of the IB is very important not only because it connects to the diploma, but also because students participating in these types of activities instills in them a focus on living a well-rounded lifestyle, which is beneficial both in university and beyond.

 

One of our outstanding graduates David Jeon who attended University of Toronto also emphasizes great value to extra-curriculum activities. As he said:

This year our B.E. Program covers more than 70 activities for students from Early Years all the way up to High School (EY3-G12).
