01 Panasonic Visit

On the morning of Sep 17^th,10 members of Panasonic management team from Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou visited BIS, accompanied by BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su, etc. The advanced International Education Management Concept and resources of BIS impressed them very well. The two parties have a deep discussion on potential cooperation opportunities in a pleasing atmosphere.

02 PYP Phonics Training

PYP teachers are running phonics sessions for all our young learners to help them acquire English faster. This week we have held sessions for teachers to share ideas and practice delivery of Phonics sessions to one another. This has given teachers ways to track progress and complete assessments efficiently and fairly for all students.

03 Canteen Concert

Secondary students showed their music talents during lunch time on Sep 18^th, making our canteen a more enjoyable place for lunch. We’ve got talents on instruments as well as vocal, and the performance is going to be a regular program that runs once a month.

04 Volleyball Game

On Sep 18^th we hosted a girls’ volleyball game with ULINK. Boston Panthers showed their spirit of teamwork and persistence during the game while also built their friendships with ULINK counterparts.

05 P1 Korean Snacks Cooking

P1 students are under their study of the Personal Histories Unit. To learn better about each other’s culture and traditions, students brought in favorite treats from their home country to share with the class. Parents also participated in the classes to show their histories and cultures. On Sep 18^th, they even made Korean traditional snacks by themselves!

06 P2 Excursion

On Sep 18^th, P2 students went on an exciting excursion to help them investigate their unit of inquiry topic: How Signs and Symbols Communicate Messages. They started at Coastal City, took a ride on the metro, and adventured through Jinkui park, all the while discussing and thinking deeply about the signs and symbols they found along the way. The students were really excited to use the knowledge and ideas they have developed in class and apply them to the real world.
