Secondary Assembly – KIVA & Movember

On November 12, the Secondary School held a student-led assembly. Students from Design Cycle MUN and Entrepreneurship presented two projects: KIVA and Movember.

MUN students introduced KIVA, an NGO that helps people in trouble to get loans. They have decided to support several individuals and groups on KIVA by raising money fromorganizing a charity party.

Entrepreneurship students presented their Movember & More program which was devoted to raise money for cancer research institutions.

Parent Workshop – Student Agency

On November 11, Secondary Principal Dr Ann Wagner gave a presentation about Student Agency to parents. For teenage students, participating in Student Agency helps to cultivate their leadership skills and sense of responsibilities.

Principal Tea

The second session of Principal Tea has started on November 14 for parents to learn moreabout IB curriculum from Mr. Brian Rotunno, our Academic Principal and Primary Principal.

EY Assembly

EY students gave their amazing performances on November 14. Singing and dancing, the students showed us their friendship as well as courage.

Ink Painting Workshop with David Reid

With Independent Artist Mr. David Reid staying on the campus for BIS Artist in Residence Program, the school community received the chance to expand their art experiences. On November 9, parents and students spent an afternoon with David and his Ink Painting workshop.

David has developed a unique way of making paintings and works on paper, which employs some of the major ideas and explores many of the materials found in Chinese art yet never seeks to imitate them. During the workshop, participates were also encouraged to express themselves with techniques originated from traditional Chinese painting.

Basketball Tournament

On Nov 14, our high school basketball teams played against OCAC. Congratulations to both boys’ and girls’ team for winning their games! The great result marks an exciting start of the BIS High School Basketball Season.
