G6-12 Week Without Walls – Research Program

Engaging With Global Issues

The ‘Engaging With Global Issues’ project is designed to give students the opportunity to research, think critically, reflect, collaborate and consider actions that could promote real change related to a self-selected Global Issue.

Cross-curricular themes were encouraged and required as students need to make links to at least two of their MYP/DP units of inquiry. Students were required to be balanced in their approach, reflective (self and peer reflection) and to demonstrate time management (based on daily teacher checkpoints). Students had the opportunity to engage with academic honesty as they researched from various sources and referenced, as needed.

Summative assessment was based on

(i) the student production of an Infographic,

(ii) a 5-8 minute presentation,

(iii) submission of their process journal.
