Movie Club Passion Projects

Our elementary school is running a Passion Project that allow students to use their interests to continue their learning. For the projects this semester, the students have chosen to work on cooking and baking, art, sport, computing and etc. The aim of passion projects is to develop curiosity, innovation and creativity around a subject they are interested in. Teachers who lead each group will look for opportunities to integrate traditional core subjects into each week, allowing students a chance to apply what they have learned in class.

In last week’s Movie Club, students who are passionate in movie making have got a good chance to experience filming in front of a green screen, which is one of the most popular technics in today’s movie industry. In the past classes, they have also tried different form likestop motion movies.

 

P3 Fun Market

P3 students are continue their learning of UOI “Money, Markets, Business”. This week, they’ve got the opportunity to set up their own market! On June 9th and 10th, they opened their fun bazaar with various booth, including fishing, rope skipping, soccer, paper pulling, soybeans bag throwing, etc. All games are designed and organized by students themselves.

Each elementary student has got three tickets designed by P3 students. Using these tickets, they were able to experience at least three different kinds of games and even had the chance to win some bonus opportunities! By the end of the market, P3 students will find out whose game is the most attractive by counting their “income”!

 

Boarding Badminton Tournament

To encourage the boarding students to get involved in the boarding community and enrich their boarding life, the boarding team organized the first sport occasion “2019-2020 BIS Boarding Badminton Tournament”. The first round was held on 31st May. All the boarders were enthusiastic about the tournament. On the court, the players tried their best to perform well; the other boarders as spectators cheered on the players. A lot of amazing moments were photographed, reflecting a safe and happy “Home away from Home”.
