Boston Spelling Bee Competition
On May 18th, Boston International School ran its first Spelling Bee. Elementary students at BIS took part in the competition, where students from grades 1 to 5 took part in a head-to-head spelling battle. Students were given words lists in advance from which to practice. On the day of the event our Spelling Beekeeper, Ms Darden, read the students their words one at a time and students attempted to spell them correctly.
We had a good range of students enter our competition, but the word that won it in the end was “rosette”, with a student from Grade 5 coming out on top. We also had winners for each grade level.
Congratulations to our little Spelling Bees!
G5-G6 Transition Group
Over the last two weeks, our elementary students from Grade 5 have spent the day following students and being part of Grade 6 classes for a day. Every student had an older buddy who showed them how MYP works and its expectations and challenges. All students enjoyed the experience and cannot wait until next year!
