On the afternoon of May.27th, representatives of students and teachers from schools in Wuxi and Suzhou visited Boston International School to participate the Xinwu International Children’s Arts Exchange Performance entitled ‘The Voice of Jiang Nan’. The event was sponsored by the Publicity Department of WND Party Work Committee (Xinwu District Committee), WND (Xinwu District) Culture and Tourism Bureau and WND (Xinwu Distrct) Education Bureau. It was organized by Boston International School together with the Xinwu Cultural Center.
Mr. Zhao Jun, the Deputy Director of WND (Xinwu District) Culture and Tourism Bureau; Mrs. Huang Xiumin, the Director of Xinwu Cultural Center; Mrs. Huang Mingshi, deputy director of Meicun Street; Mrs. Liu Yun from WND (Xinwu District) Education Bureau and other representatives from Xinwu Cultural Center attended the event as guests. BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su, Academic Principal Mr. Brian Rotunno; Assistant Principal Mr. David Bremner and other representatives from the management team watched the performance together with Elementary students from Boston International School.
Before the performance started, BIS Academic Principal Mr. Brian Rotunno gave a welcome speech on behalf of BIS Senior Executive Team. Then the performance was began with a Ballet Performance leaded by Ana, a G12 student from Boston International School. After that, students from schools in Suzhou and Wuxi continued to impress the audience with several performances from Wuxi Opera, Suzhou Pingtan (Storytelling and Ballad Singing), Peking Opera and Erhu (Chinese Violin) Performance. The performance showed the glorious charm of Chinese Traditional Culture. Students of G2, G3, G5, and the orchestra from Boston International School also gave several performances in terms of Broadway-style Singing and Dancing, Tang Poem Singing, creative bucket drums performance and an orchestra performance which all showed the western culture very well and gave an enjoyable afternoon for the audiences.
