Seminar on Classroom Teaching Design for Middle School English

On December 4th, Boston International School welcomed 40 English teachers from 19 middle schools of Xinwu District to participate in the seminar on classroom teaching design for Middle School English.

The seminar aims to help teachers to explore the teaching strategies and methods of English reading. Both of our ELL teacher and the English teachers of other Middle Schools have demonstrated their teaching methods of the same textbook respectively. Through this demonstration, all teachers can observe and discover the similarities and differences in teaching design ideas and methods from both perspectives. All teachers were involved in group discussions, and shared a lot of interesting ideas between each other.

English teachers from Xinwu District Middle Schools showed great interest in the interactive teaching method that Mr. Young presented, the teacher representative of our school. Compared with traditional English teaching, Mr. Young’s class can stimulate students’ interest in learning, guide students to think, and complete effective English reading through discussion and thinking.

This particular seminar is also an important part of the series of activities for Xinwu District to participate in the election of Jiangsu provincial demonstration center for teachers’ development. Also attending the seminar were evaluators from the evaluation group of Jiangsu teachers’ development center. After observing the class, the evaluators highly appraised the teaching method of our school and hope to be involved in more of the communication with our school in the future.
