A strong home-school partnership of parents and teachers makes a positive impact on a student’s learning. Parent Teacher Conferences (PTCs) are one way of developing that home-school partnership. BIS holds a Parent-teacher conference every semester to update parents on student progress. This week, the school invited parents to the one-on-one PTCs for all parents from Early Years to Secondary School.
As an IB school, BIS has always been sticking to a student-centered philosophy. We believe that effective cooperation between the school and the family is the best way to support every student. Thus, we are keen to keep regular communication with parents in many forms.
Outside of PTCs, parents are always welcome to book meetingswith teachers, counsellors, coordinators and the administration team to followup on their child’s progress or learning needs.
Another way we strengthen the home-school partnership is with Parent Workshops, Principal Tea, Coffee with Counsellor and other events, from which parents could learn from the school administration team about the latest information and some practical tips about education.
We are also very proud of our talented parents who devote a lot to help the school. The Boston Parent Association plays an essential role as a bridge between the school and the parents. Recently, the BPA has organized various activities, from psychological lectures to flower arranging, while also generously participating in school events like International Day.
We greatly appreciate the amazing support from our parents and will continue to create an environment where we can join hands together with our parents to help all the students achieve their best.
