★International Baccalaureate

IB curriculum offers four major progarammes, that is PYP (Primary Years Programme), MYP (Middle Years Programme), DP (Diploma Programme) and CP (Career-related Programme).

Boston International School is the ONLY IB Continuum school in Wuxi that offer all three programmes of PYP, MYP and DP.

★Advanced Placement

AP curriculum is not mandatory to American college application. They are college preparatory courses. If students are able to complete four AP subjects, they are more likely to be accepted by univerisities.

Boston International School is registered in College Board (CEEB # 694610) and authorized to offer AP curriculum.

★Scholastic Aptitude Test

The SAT is a standardized test developed by the College Board widely used for college admissions in the United States. Boston International School students can take SAT tests in our school.

0School Membership

When choosing an international school, parents should value the memberships, authorizations and accreditations of that school. As they present not only the theory and aim of the school, but also demonstrate that the school makes various world-class standards and practices. BIS are members of CIS and WASC.

Western Association of Schools and Colleges

The Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), a world-renowned accrediting association and one of the six regional accrediting agencies in the United States, works closely with the Office of Overseas Schools under the U.S. Department of State. ACS WASC provides assistance to schools worldwide, primarily in California, Hawaii, Guam, Asia, the Pacific Region, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

In addition, Boston International School is also a member of some Asia international school associations like ACAMIS and EARCOS.

With all these membership authorization, Boston International School is bound to achieve an internationally high level of operating and teaching.

0Faculty

Faculty is a key element to decide the academic level of a school. For an international school, foreign teachers are definitely more important. Parents should pay more attention to teachers and their certificates.

Boston International School will be under the leadership of senior foreign teachers.

Senior Teachers

90% of teachers are educated from various countries around the world and holding teaching qualifications with their respective countries, over 60% of teachers have a master’s degree or higher, with an average of more than 10 years of teaching experience, and with an average of more than 5 years of IB experience.

ELL and World Language

The primary language of instruction at Boston International School is English. To improve the English skills of non-native speakers, the school offers an English Language Learning Program (ELL). Through specialized English instruction, the program aims to improve students' English language skills and enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills needed in other academic subjects. All English instruction is provided by professional teachers and supports learning in all grade levels and academic content areas.

Boston Explorers and Boston Panther

At Boston International School (BIS), we place equal emphasis on students’ intellectual and personal development, encouraging them to learn from everything they do. BIS offers a wide and diverse range of activities that are geared towards developing interests and skills in a wide range.

We compete in core sports like Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Track & Field, Cross country, Badminton, Table tennis, Softball, Touch Rugby, Swimming and Golf during the sport season. Other leisure physical activities are offered as well.

In order for our students to have a better understanding of technology and to enhance their creativity, we offer classes such as introduction to coding, robotics, Model United Nations, cooking, photography, journalism, living green, music appreciation and art clubs.

For students who need extra help with their academics, we also offer academic and homework help sessions, including English conversation, reading and math tutoring.

 

BIS is a registered full-membership school in local and international sports conferences. We endeavor to enter our teams into as many competitions as possible, especially for the core sports of volleyball, basketball and soccer.
Our students not only compete in competitions within the Jiangsu Province but also in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
