Measures Taken to Ensure a Healthy and Safe Campus

First of all, we wish you and your family well at this special time of novel Coronavirus outbreak.

Boston International School has been taken extreme focus and full energy into protective and disinfection matters. We want to assure you that we have made every effort to ensure the school, its facilities and all who return will be safe from the Coronavirus.

In accordance with <Notice on Launching Level 1 Emergency Response to Novel Coronavirus Pandemic> published by Wuxi People’s Government on January 25th , 2020 and < Notice Regarding the Delayed Start of Spring Semester 2020 > published by Wuxi Education Bureau on January 26th, 2020, the school has also started its emergency status and following measures have been taken.

Academic Plan

Postponing School Start Date

In accordance with the Directive from the Wuxi Government we will be postponing the opening of the school from Monday 10th February toMonday 17th February.

Updated Holiday Notice has been sent to parents via email and WeChat group on January 26th in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Online Education

School Senior Management have met and are preparing Online Coursematerial to be provided to students for the period of 10th February – 14th February. All material completed by students and submitted will be reviewed, graded and feedback to students and parents by teachers.

Relating Notice has been sent to parents via email and WeChat group on January 29th in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Health Investigation

We started health investigation into our parents, students, teachers and staff from January 23th through WeChat and questionnaires. It is a serious and continuous investigation strictly executive to individuals. The investigation includes household registration, travel history, health condition, etc.

Administration

On the basis of daily disinfection in the school, we will conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection covering each and every corner of the whole campus during before the school resumes.

We are continuously purchasing medical materials to guarantee abundant safety reserves, including masks, thermometer, 75% medical alcohol, instant hand sanitizer and other protective equipment.

According to < Notice on Postponing the Resumption of Work> published by Wuxi Industry and Information Bureau, Wuxi Business Bureau and Wuxi Market Supervision and Administration on January 27th, 2020, school Admin staff will return to work until February 10th instead of February 3rd.4

The school has set up an emergency team to ensure good operations. During the period of February 3rd to February 9th, we guarantee staff on duty every single day.

Communication

From January 24th, we have started positive communication with parents, students, teachers and staff through school WeChat account, WeChat groups and email. All government notices, relating safety notices and academic notices have been conveyed successfully.

In addition to sending government notices and sources, we also attach thetranslation versions of English, Japanese and Korean in the first time to ensure the correct communication.

Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Advice for the Public

Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water;

When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash hands;

Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough;

If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing seek medical care early and share previous travel history with your health care provider;

When visiting live markets in areas currently experiencing cases of novel coronavirus, avoid direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals;

The consumption of raw or undercooked animal products should be avoided. Raw meat, milk or animal organs should be handled with care, to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods, as per good food safety practices.

If any symptoms include fever, cough, breathing difficulties, or suspected of contracted coronavirus appears, please head to fever clinics in the assigned hospitals in the list below and contact you SCL immediately. When in the hospital, maintain some distance from other patients and wear a face mask properly at all times.
