Drama

The Grade 9 students in Mandarin Language Literature class are learning about Drama. In this unit, they have learnt the literary knowledge about the drama. They read the excerpt from the famous movie script “The sound of Music”. They rewrote Maupassant’s representative work “The Necklace” into a script and then they act one of the parts in the script as group work.

The key concept of this unit is Communication, and the IB Learner profile we focus on is Communicators. The students express themselves confidently and creatively in many ways. They enjoyed their performance of the script “The Necklace”, which they rewrote by themselves. This activity also developed their communication skills. They used the appropriate forms to write the script, they shared ideas with their group members, they gave and received meaningful feedback and they interpreted and used effective modes of non-verbal communication.
