With the help of Xinwu District Red Cross Society, all the donation materials collected were distributed to Dagou Village Elementary School located in Qinhai Province to help the 24 students.
Last week, our counterparts in Qinhai have received the package before Dragon Boat Festival as holiday presents.
We are so delighted to see these happy faces! The bridge of communication between the two school students will last and we wish all these lovely students will enjoy their life and have a bright future.
While this is not the first time our students have showed their passion to social welfare. Last summer, a group of our secondary students took part in a Desert Volleyball Match and a sustainable workshop in Malan Lake, Tengger Desert.
Through a four-day trip, these students have experienced what life was like in a desert. A desert volleyball match was held as part of the desert life.
Through the effort of desert specialists, the environment has been improved significantly with the appearance of oasis and diversified creatures. Students also got the opportunities to experience tree planting, plant management, nest building and yurt forming. None result will be achieved without these little daily efforts.
They have also participated in a workshop discussing about the restoration and sustainable development of desert ecosystem. Through years of effort, the desert is now not only a competition field for popular sports like desert volleyball, but also a place through which social value and business models of modern life can effectively convey to all.
Above two events are great samples to show how our students make connections between their context, their learning, and local and global issues, so they grow into confident, internationally-minded citizens in a diverse and inclusive community.
