In the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) held on September 26th, 48 students from BIS won various awards! Among the competitors, 3 students from our secondary school were awarded DISTINCTION, 15 students awarded CREDIT, 30 students awarded PROFICIENCY.
This year, 38,516 students from 1,700 schools all over China participated in the competition. As one of the official AMC exam centers in China, 58 students from BIS took part in the competition, covering from G3 to G11. Thanks to their solid mathematical foundation, our students achieved excellent results. Congratulations to them again!
Let’s share the happiness of the three students who won DISTINCTION.
G9 Andy Wu:
I want to thank the school for providing such a chance that allowed me to see how my diligence at studying maths in the last few months helped me from fruiting.
G10 George Zhang:
I think everyone should attend the AMC test, because I think it is a very good chance for us to examine our skills on math. It can tell you did you put enough effort on it or not. I’m very glad that I get award this time and I will keep improving my math skills. I wish I can do better next time and try my best.
G10 Vincent Qin:
I’m quite satisfied with my score. I didn’t expect to get the score that I got, so I was surprised when the results came out. I think I did alright this time, but I can also do better the next time. Overall, I still have room to improve.
The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is one of the world’s largest in-school math competitions with 43-year history with over 15,000,000 participants from 32 countries.
AMC is hosted by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) , one of the world’s leading authorities in math.
