Students’ physical and mental health has always been one of the top priorities of BIS. As a result, we attach great importance to PE education, sports team development and psychological guidance.
All members of the school are also divided into four houses, namely the Phoenix House, the Dragon House, the Tianma House and the Qilin House. Instilling healthy competition among houses, students have the opportunity to compete with one another and earn points for their house, collaborating and sharing a community across grade levels.
This semester, the whole school has got the opportunity to take part in a 3-day Athletics Championships and fight for their houses!
Houses Chant Off Finals
Students from Early Years, Elementary School and Secondary School, along with their house teachers, presented their house chant offs with elaborately designed formations and slogans. Everyone was greatly encouraged before going forward into official athletic games!
Secondary School
On November 4th, Secondary students went through a day of intense track and field events covering shot put, discus, soft javelin, ball throw, sprints, high jump, long jump and relay races. Students competed in the games to compete with their friends, to gain points for their houses, and most importantly, to challenge themselves.
Elementary School
On November 5th, our young athletes from elementary school joined the games of sprints, relay, frisbee, throw, long jump, high jump, shot put and various kinds of fun activities. They shared a great moment with their friends and teachers.
Early Years
On November 6th, our cutest little ones landed on their new battlefield out of their EY playground – they made it all the way to the oval! The little athletes experienced a great time taking part in different kinds of fun games, interacting with their friends, teachers and student volunteers from other grades.
Through the 3-day Athletics Championships, students exhibited their spirit of persistence and teamwork, as well as their caring for each other and the friendship they share between different houses.
