Christmas is a time of giving and everyone deserves to be appreciated and loved.
The student council and teachers started a campaign to acknowledge the local communities and it was a whole school event. We have chosen ‘Chong-An special needs school’ and ‘Senior Community’ for this year’s charity drive event.
Chong-An Special needs school
This is a school for children who have developmental disorder or conditions like Autism, down syndrome, dyslexia, processing disorders and etc.
We selected 33 students and surveyed on their needs. Students from BIS Early Years and Primary Years purchased items like stationeries and balls. On December 6th, the items were packed and delivered to them.
This is a lego learning room to train students here in their eyes and hands coordination.
This is a hotel mock-up room, and is used to train the students in house-keeping skills.
Here are the donations form BIS to Chong-An Special Needs School.
These are the elderly who live alone with no support from family members.
Our secondary students have gathered necessities like rice, detergent, tooth paste, blankets, pillows, laundry powder, cooking oil, cleaning spray and etc.
These items were packed in different bags and distributed to the elderly on December 6th too.
The children and seniors who have received these items felt happy and loved.
We thank all of you who participated in this project which has brought much joy and happiness to those we helped.
What’s given does not always have to be a gift, a kind word or a friendly smile goes a long way towards saying thank you for all you do, and will increase the chances of building a friendly and successful relationship.
