A: I think all the three core elements of IBDP: TOK (Theory of Knowledge), EE (Extended Essay) and CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) are equally important. With the three core elements, IB not only focuses on academics, but also prepare students for their future career. ECA also plays an important role.

A: Yes. My College Counsellor Mr. Wagner offered great help. He considered a lot, like you may not like your major in your first year and probably gonna change a major from the second year. Does the school offer that? He will consider everything for you and help make the final choice.

A: Grades are important, and it is crucial to keep them consistent. However, grades are definitely not everything, personal character and experiences are equally as important. Universities are not looking for studying machines who are engineered to sit and study all day and ace an exam at the end of the semester, they are looking for well-rounded, capable individuals who will benefit from and contribute to communities of other students. They want people who will be able to enrich the environment which they end up in, they want to see someone with hobbies and ambitions, no matter what they may be outside of school. It is important to go outside and see the world, experience new things, challenge yourself, while of course keeping your life balanced. It has to be a good balance of academics, personal interests, and social life.
Congratulations to Ruoming!
