Xinwu District School Laboratory Management Training Held in BIS

On the afternoon of January 10th, Xinwu District School Laboratory Management Training was held in BIS. The training session was organized by Wuxi Xinwu District School Safety Committee. Mr. Fei Yufeng, Member CPC Committee and Head of Educational Supervision of Xinwu District Education Bureau, Mr. Lu Jianfeng from Xinwu District Education Bureau, Mr Zhu Yuren from Xinwu District Public Security Bureau and Ms. Sue Su, BIS Executive President presented the session along with representatives who work for laboratories in primary and middle schools of the district.

On the beginning of the session, BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su shared her experience in establishing our school laboratory system. According to her, BIS also encountered some challenges at first. Thanks to the expertise of our management team, our deep understanding towards relating policies and great help from the government, we completed the laboratory system that not only meets the regulations but also is recognized by the government as a model school. BIS is honored to share its successful experiences on establishing and managing school laboratory to all schools within the district.

Afterwards, our Science Teaching Assistant Ms. Anne Fan Chiang gave a presentation about our laboratory management process. On the one hand, we possess facilities of national standard. On the other hand, we have already developed a set of strict administration system. All relating foreign teachers and staff have achieved certificates and taking certain responsibilities.

Ms. Fan Chiang then led a tour to our laboratory, chemical storage rooms and CCTV room. During the tour, Mr Zhu Yuren from Xinwu District Public Security Bureau explained thecurrent national standards of the management of hazardous laboratory chemicals, including storage, monitor and facility, etc.

Mr. Zhu continued to stress the emergency of completing the management system of hazardous chemicals after the tour. Both Mr. Zhu and Mr. Lu highly praised BIS for its laboratory management. Mr. Zhu also pointed out that they chose BIS as the training location so that other schools could experience this great sample and take this information back to their respective schools.

Finally, Mr. Fei Yufeng, Member CPC Committee and Head of Educational Supervision of Xinwu District Education Bureau, concluded the session highly praising our laboratory management and stressing the importance of hazardous chemicals storage. He continued to analyze the document of “Implementation Plan of School Laboratory Safety of Wuxi High-tech District (Xinwu District)” and deployed the next step of the implementation of the regulation.

Physical and mental health of our students is always our first priority. We pay great attention to safety matters of our school, including school bus, air quality and food safety, etc. Recently, Boston International School is honored to be listed by Wuxi Market Supervision and Administration as one of the Food Quality and Safety Representative Restaurants of Jiangsu Province.
