
01 P3 Charity Market
P3 students are studying businesses during this economic unit of inquiry. They have learned about how to start and run a business from several specialists (School News|PYP Students Meet with Business Specialists!). This time, students took what they learned and opened a charity market in May 22.
Not only handmade food like brownies, cookies, cake, fruit juice, but also services like face painting, bracelet making, playing games, and even a magic show were able to be found in the market! Altogether P3 students made over 3000RMB and they are going to donate the money to a Challenged Children organization.
02 Parent Workshop – EY Programme
On May 23, the 7th Parent Workshop of this semester was held in the auditorium, presenting by our EY Coordinator Ms. Bibiana Garcia with the theme of “The Image of The Child”.
Bringing some class scenes into the auditorium, Ms. Bibiana Garcia interacted with all the attending parents as if giving a class to the students. Through her inspiring way of introduction and presentation, parents understood how EY programme works like in our school better and developed the idea of children’s image.
03 Director of Xinwu Education Bureau Ms. Zhangying Visited BIS
On the afternoon of May 27, Ms. Zhangying, Director of Education Bureau of Xinwu District and Gu Wanchun, Head of Education Center of Xinwu District visited BIS in order to promote the development of Xinwu Education Union. Ms. Sue Su, Executive President, Mr. Rob Stewart, Executive Principal, Ms. Ann Wagner, Secondary Principal and Mr. Michael Wagner, Student Services Director warmly welcomed and showed them around the campus. The group had a deep discussion about international education and IB program. Ms. Zhangying highly evaluated our team management and education quality. She also expressed her expectation that the school serves industries in the districts better by providing premium international education as well as promoting traditional Chinese culture to the world.
