Chinese Culture Quiz
On October 15th, secondary students got together in the auditorium for a Chinese Culture Quiz. Representative from four houses (Phoenix, Tianma, Dragon and Qilin) competed in the quiz about Mid-autumn-themed Chinese traditions and cultures.
As an international school with students from more than 25 countries, we respect the culture of our host country. The Chinese culture quiz is a well demonstration. The event also stands as a positive competition between houses.
Parent Workshop – The Ways Young Students Learn at BIS
On October 14th, Ms. Emma Shang, our EY Senior Manager, gave a Parent Workshop on the theme of The Ways Young Students Learn at BIS. With an introduction video, the presentation began with how children spent one day at BIS EY Center, i.e. the environment they are studying in, the resources they access to learn and samples of daily schedule, etc.
Afterwards, Ms. Shang also gave parents some guidance about how to communicate effectively with their children. Parents highly resonated with the topic and even involved some spontaneous discussions.
The next Parent Workshop session will be held on October 21st, presented by our DP Coordinator Mr. Matt Kirk on the theme of the Core of IBDP.
EY Assembly
On October 15th, EY held an assembly in the auditorium. Through a puppet show performed by elementary students, EY students learned the importance of the magic words “Thank you” and “Please”. Awards were also issued to students who performed well with these magic words.
