
On the morning of August 6th, Ms. Liu Beihong, the President of Wuxi Xinwu District’s Committee of CPPCC and the president of Wuxi Xinwu District’s Association for Friendship with Foreigners and members of her team visited Boston International School, accompanied by BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su, Executive Principal Mr. Rob Stewart, Secondary Principal Ms. Ann Wagner, Primary Principal Mr. Brian Rotunno, etc.
Wuxi Xinwu District People’s Association for Friendship with Foreigners (hereinafter referred to as ‘The Association’) was established at the end of 2018, aiming at ‘Enhance People’s Friendship, Promote International Cooperation, Promote Common Development’, committed to the target of leading the Xinwu district to stand on the front line in high-level of strategic opening, continuously deepen and widen the international communication and cooperation, enhance the mutual understanding of different culture. Many impressive and meaningful large-scale activities have been organized by the Association since it was established. As membership of The Association, Boston International School actively participated in several activities such as the “View May Flower Blooming, Witness the Prosperous Xinwu District’ Hiking Activity in May, the ‘Chinese and Foreign Fellowship Activities’ to celebrate the dragon boat festival Activity in June, etc.
During this visit, firstly, Ms. Liu came to the meeting room to hear presentation about BIS in terms of curriculum system, faculty team, accreditation and authorization, school activities, international collaborative cooperation and communications, etc. Ms. Liu said she has a great impression on BIS since her last visit for BIS opening Ceremony in January of 2018. She also highly appreciated our great support to the Association and our active participation in the activities organized by the Association previously. Ms. Liu also shared the concept of the Association Operation and the plan for the upcoming activities and kindly invite BIS Foreign team to participate in continuously as always. At the same time, Ms. Liu proposed to have closer cooperation with each other to promote the international culture communication, deepen the mutual understanding of different culture and inherit Wuxi Local and Chinese Traditional Culture. BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su and Executive Principal Mr. Rob Stewart expressed our appreciation and willingness about this. The two sides then communicated furtherly on the upcoming cooperation.
After that, Ms. Liu had a campus tour accompanied by BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su, she visited the classroom area, the student’s dormitory area, the canteen area, the PE and Music Class area, she highly praised the international atmosphere, high-standard equipment and facilities application and considerate student service at BIS. Ms. Liu kindly joined in and watched the orientation activities for all BIS faculty and staff, which was ongoing during the tour time and was very impressed for the positive and upwards team spirit at BIS.
Since its establishment, with strong support from leaders and collaborative counterparts from all sectors of society, Boston International School continuously devoted herself to support the regional development with proactive practice and involvement, especially in the aspects of promoting the international communication and mutual understanding and support to inherit and promote Wuxi and Chinese traditional culture. We sincerely believe the upcoming closer cooperation with The Association can devote more energy to the blooming development for BIS.
