Movember and More is an annual Boston International School student-led event to raise funds and awareness of the physical and mental health of teenagers. The male teachers will grow their mustaches and the female teachers will grow hair to get shaved or hair-color sprayed by the lucky participants who are drawn on the actual Movember day.
This year we gathered for the Movember assembly on November 26. The campaign started early in November to raise money from selling tickets for students and staff.
We have nearly all grades of BIS students, plus many parents and staff getting involved in the participation. With everyone’s great efforts, we have raised over 25,000 RMB. We also have external donations from our parents as well as local entrepreneurs and businesses.
We are proud to announce the set up of the BIS Movember and More Foundation! The Movember and More Foundation is great evidence of all BIS members’ love and caring.
Movember originally originated in Australia and is generally an annual charity event. During the event, male participants are encouraged to grow their beards throughout November and then shave them off at the end of November to receive donations and funding. The original purpose of this event is raising awareness of men’s health issues.
IB education is committed to developing students who will make a meaningful contribution to the world, both during and after their education. As an IB Continuum School, we encourage students of all ages to devote themselves into services and actions in a variety of ways.
