IBDP Group 4 Project

The Group 4 Project is one of the most exciting times for the first-year students in DP, especially those who love science and experiments. As a core requirement of the IBDP, Group 4 Project encourages practice-based learning and inter-disciplinary collaboration between students. The students from each Science subject (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) get together in groups of four and come up with ideas related to science. They then choose the relevant theory and test it through experiments in the labs (either empirically or through secondary research) under the supervision of science teachers. Each time there is a general theme around which the students propose ideas. This year, the theme at BIS was ‘Sustainability’. All the teachers at the science department are involved in the Group 4 Project as supervisors. On the fourth day, June 11th, after having worked together for ten hours, the groups make presentations of their projects and the final results they achieved through the experiments.
