Boston International School is proud of its multi-culture community in which all members lift each other up and share a positive passion toward our growth. Among this community, there is a special group who devoted a lot of their energy and time to support the school. They are our parents.
At BIS, parents are encouraged to participate in the life of the school. We have a constitution formed by our parent representatives called Boston Parent Association (BPA).
School Events Support
As an international school, we value and respect different cultures. The school organize various kinds of culture events throughout the year, which get enormous support from our parents.
Chinese New Year
Charity Events led by BPA
Our community gave emphasis to social service. In addition to the spontaneously founded charity events held by our teachers and students, the BPA also is also keen in charity events and donates all the event incomes.
Parent Talent Pool
Our parents are from all walks of the society and there are lots of talents! They are willing to offer resources and educational support to help students with their academic performance and social service projects.
Senior students visited UBS, the global firm providing financial services for a banking simulation.
Elementary students visited ZODA, an electronic motor manufacture to learn about company operation.
Close Communication with School
The school attaches great importance to parents’ thoughts and suggestions, while also willing to share the latest updates about what’s happening on campus. Thus we have various kinds of regular activities to keep in touch with parents.
We have organized over 30 sessions of Parent Workshop to instruct parents about the curriculum, the home learning suggestions, the education psychologies, etc.
Parent/ Teacher Conference
The school holds an official Parent/ Teacher Conference each semester to give parents a direct communication platform with homeroom teachers and subject teachers.
The Principal Tea is regularly held to share the updates from each department and hear from the parents about their concerns and suggestions.
Coffee with Counsellor
On the sessions of Coffee with Counsellor, our Student Service Director and College Counsellor shares his opinions and experiences on education, where parents also get the opportunity to communicate and share with each other.
Library Donation & Volunteer
We’d also like to thank parents for their generous donation to the school library and their volunteer help in the library.
