G9 Science
Atomic structure, molecules and compounds
As part of the topic on atomic structure, molecules and compounds, students get to explore the different molecules by building their own molecules from the molecular model kits available at BIS. The students must construct the basic molecular structures like water and carbon dioxide first and then they get to try more complex structures like glucose and amino acids. This is an important part of exploring science and the learning-by-doing strategy utilized by the sciences at BIS.
This activity links chemistry and physics with biology and is applicable to further studies in physical and organic chemistry as well as biological studies.
