As their learning experience, students use basic French for basic greetings, names of family members, number skills, to introduce themselves and their family members. They start editing related texts referring to the learned sentence starters; they also make their family tree, label it and share the information with the whole class.
The summative assessment is to write a long paragraph about themselves (100 words for phase 1 students, 150 words for phase 2 and 200-250 words for phase 3 students). They then orally present the same information to the class.
