Clock Time vs Psychological Time
Students read the story “Clock time and Clock in Our Psychological Mind” in class and learned that there are two types of “clocks” we use in our life on a daily basis. Some people’s clock go faster than others depending on their mind and environment; The story reminds us to keep that in our mind; we are all different and it is great when we can work together with harmony.
After reading the story, students gathered stories from themselves, family members, teachers, and friends in which they experienced “irritated experience” in their life due to different “times” in their psychological minds. Then students created a book called “Incident Files” in Japanese with some illustrations, which provided ideas for how to avoid conflict without getting irritated by others because of “our psychological time difference.” They also learned that they can help each other better by using better words and expressions, especially at school.
As an IB learner, students learned how to think from different point of viewdepending on the situation and occasion and apply what they learned avoid conflicts in their life as much as possible and to work better with others in the world we live in.
