Travelling
The topic of Unit 2 in Grade 10 is travelling throughout Germany. In this unit the students learned in German how to make a plan for a trip, preparing things for travelling, how to make a reservation in German, how to ask the ways or prices. They learned a lot of vocabulary about countries and German traditions. Last week, G10 students were asked to do a presentation about German traditions for Christmas based on their own research.
The topic of this unit has combined with the IB key concepts: culture and combined with an inquiry-based teaching approach utilizing instructional technology. This approach promotes student motivation and engagement that can help overcome past issues of stereotyping and lack of intercultural awareness.
