Design Cycle – MUN
In MUN Design, students participated in a Mock Trial that simulated the International Criminal Court on May 13th. During their first week, students researched a specific country and controversial leader and examined arguments in favour and against putting the leader on trial. During their second and third week, students were divided into three groups: Prosecutors, Defence, and Witnesses. The Prosecutors and Defence had to prepare an opening statement and a detailed written and oral presentation that outlined their main arguments. The Witnesses took upon the role of real people who are associated with the country and whose statements served to remind the class that the facts and figures that we analyse are not abstract, but directly impact the lives of human beings today.
