Cold Hands, Warm Hearts | BIS Students Volunteer

Cold Hands, Warm Hearts | BIS Students Volunteer

by BIS / 2018.12.12 Wednesday / Published in news & event

On Sunday December 9th, a cold winter morning, a group of students from Boston International School showed up at the inaugural 2018 Wuxi Chamber of Commerce Christmas Bazaar as volunteers to serve our community.

The volunteers included Audrey Chin, Minnie Kim, Sanghyeok Seo, Lucy Hwang, Roha Jung and Jenny Kim. They performed a variety of volunteer activities from working at the registration booth, stuffing welcome bags, assisting with Chinese translation and market maintenance (trash pickup), and also helped wherever needed.

Lucy Hwang, one of our six student volunteers, was specially recognized by Wuxi Chamber staff for going above and beyond by displaying a generous act of kindness. It was noticed, by some Chamber of Commerce staff, that she purchased a sausage for a disabled woman with her own money, without saying anything or notifying anyone. She did a great act of kindness while representing Boston International School on this cold winter morning.
