With the approaching of a beautiful season with the fragrance of Osmanthus blossoms filled in the air, we celebrated the 71st anniversary of the founding of PRC as well as the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.
See how we have celebrated the festivals at BIS!
Multi-culture Bazaar
To celebrate Chinese National Day, the Mid-autumn Festival, as well as the traditional German festival, Oktober Fest, G11 students planned and organized a multi-culture bazaar on September 29th.
Snacks, drinks and some toys related to the festivals were sold to fellow students, teachers and parents. All the income will go to an orphanage located in Mongolia to improve the lives of innocent children who are living difficult lives at the moment as a charity donation.
As an International School, BIS cherishes and embraces the variety of multi-culture of our community. The student-led event is a well embodiment of our school mission: Boston International School nurtures the curiosities and talents of our learners so they grow into confident, internationally-minded citizens in a diverse and inclusive community.
EY Assembly
With the approaching of the Mid-autumn Festival, EY held a special assembly on September 24th. On the assembly, children learned the story of Houyi and Change, the origin of the festival. Teachers also presented an impressive dancing to celebrate the coming Mid-autumn Festival, which cheered everyone up!
Upcoming Mid-autumn Celebrations
To celebrate the Mid-autumn Festival and help students learn more about traditional Chinese culture, we will hold activities and events after the holidays, including a Chinese culture quiz competition and an artwork competition both in the theme of Mid-autumn Festival.
Besides all these activities held on campus, a decoration corner was set up with surprising holiday gifts for all BIS staff. The gifts are filled with the love and care in-between the BIS community.
Wish all the members of BIS community have a happy and healthy holiday!
