On May 24, Dr. Erwin Neher and Dr. Eva Neher from Germany, Dr. Shu Jiang, Dr. Jinyu Wang and Dr. Liyang Jiang visited Boston International School. School Chairman and Executive President warmly welcomed them, showed them around the campus and detailed current operating conditions and development plan in the future. All delegation members highly recognized the academic management, IB Curriculum and school environment of BIS. Dr. Eva Neher gave a short presentation on the concept and vision of XLab. A common intention has been reached by both sides after friendly discussion that XLab China will be settled in Boston International School. A MOU has been signed right after. XLab will invite Nobel Laureates, scientists and academicians to Wuxi, China and have face to face interactions with BIS students and teachers. Students will have a deeper understanding of science, obtain higher scores through different kinds of teaching methods such as science festivals. Therefore, students have more opportunities to get into the top universities.
Founded by Mr. and Mrs. Neher in Göttingen University, Germany, XLab aims to offer students with new ways of learning, which is to perform experiments that are designed by experienced scientists in state-of-the-art laboratories all by themselves. XLab offers curriculum in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Neurobiology and computer science. It finds and develops students’ interest in science and technology. Its distinguished concept is very much accepted by high school students from Germany, Europe and worldwide. For the past 20 years, over 190000 high school students from all over the world have been attracted by its professionalism, intensity and internationality and came to study in XLab. It now has hundreds of excellent alumni.
Dr. Erwin Neher
Dr. Erwin Neher is a German biophysicist, won the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine in 1991. In 1987, he won Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize.
Dr. Eva-Maria Neher
Dr. Eva-Maria Neher is a German scientist in the fields of biochemistry and microbiology. She is the Executive Director of XLab.
