On the morning of Nov.7th, a group of local teachers visited BIS to attend theInternational Education Communication Activity of Xinwu District. More than 30 English Teachers represented each public school in Xinwu District.
This activity was organized by Education Bureau and Education Development Center of Xinwu District to promote regional international education communication, provide a chance for all schools in the Xinwu District to communicate with each other, build a regional community of high-quality education resources, and promote sharing and integration of English language curriculum.
BIS Executive President Ms. Sue Su and Executive Principal Mr. Rob Stewart led the full BIS Senior Executive Team in a warm welcome to the visitors.
BIS Executive Principal, Mr. Rob Stewart, gave a brief introduction on BIS’s curriculum, philosophy, and approach and warmly invited the visitors to visit the classrooms to experience how we practice.
The visitors were divided into a primary group and a secondary group based on their teaching grades. Led by BIS Primary Principal Mr. Brian Rotunno and Secondary Principal Dr. Ann Wagner, they entered different school classrooms to get a comprehensive experience with BIS English lessons.
Finally, all the visitors assembled in the auditorium for a Q&A session. Mr.Gu Wanchun, Member of the Party committee of Xin Wu District Education Bureau and Director of Xinwu District Education Development Center, gave a closing speech. Mr. Gu first expressed his appreciation for the attendance of all the English teachers representing each public school in Xinwu District. He explained that Boston International School, which developed from the first International School in Wuxi, has been one of the key international education projects in the Xinwu District. He expressed that the school will take regional education development to a higher level with its rich experience, professional international management, experienced faculty team, and advanced education philosophy and curriculum. Mr. Gu expressed that he hopes to take full advantage of all high-quality international education resources in Xinwu District like Boston International School to provide opportunities for further development for teachers in the local public schools. These opportunities will help local teachers better understand international education concepts and practices without going overseas and allow them to apply it to their education practices creatively. All these efforts will support further development of our regional education.
