Are You Mentally Healthy? Advice from BIS Future Entrepreneurs

Are You Mentally Healthy? Advice from BIS Future Entrepreneurs

by BIS / 2020.09.04 Friday / Published in news & event
Hi students and parents, how are you really feeling today?

Do you feel under pressure or irritability?

• Extremely high and low moods?

• Excessive fear, worry, or anxiety?

• Social withdrawal?

• Dramatic changes in eating or sleeping habits?

The G12 business students understand them all. They have been through a lot. They are learning social marketing and they really care about mental health issues of students. Even the students who are currently learning from home right now understand pressure from being away from campus all the time.

The G12 business students created these two videos to help students to be aware of emotional issues. If you feel under pressure, talk to someone. We hear you!

As a student, you may have been through tough times like getting great pressure from your assignment, break relationships or isolation and loneliness. Through a short mime, students have shown how they will be distressed under different situations.

How to balance yourself? Another group give their answer through an animation:

It is to everyone’s concern of the importance of mental health.

It is to everyone’s concern of the importance of mental health.

She was forced to study online from home as her home country is locked down due to COVID-19. But as a G12 student, she feels lonely as separated from her teachers and classmates. What’s more, she sometimes gets anxious and worried as she feels uncertain towards the future.

Every time she’s got an unhappy face, she will have a chat with her mom. It turns out that talk and being listened are of great importance.

For students at BIS, they can go to the Student Services teachers as well as some other teachers or students to get more help and keep mental health.

A Discovery to BIS Business Classes

BIS business and entrepreneurship center supports Secondary students learning business theories and exploring the opportunities of starting up businesses. Our mission is to establish a business environment for building relationships, partnerships, friendship, and apprenticeship.

G7 Entrepreneurship

G7 students are encouraged to run a real business under the main functions of business, helping them to build a consolidate foundation in both business theories and practices. The G7 students have already set up their own brand K2, named after the two major designers and run under the leadership of the CEO.

G9 Business Management

G9 students’ mainly focus is to combine business theories and practices. They are expected to learn theoretical knowledge and skills, as well as participating in all kinds of business activities.

G10 Business Management

For G10 students, the major goal is to well prepare them for the coming DP period. They are going through a more intensive and rigor theoretical foundation building session for DP business course.

G11/G12 Business Management

As the DP curriculum sets up a way higher standard, G11 and G12 students are expected to meet or even surpass the requirements of world business universities. They also got a lot of opportunities to meet with college admission officers.

Last academic year, our Entrepreneurship and Business Management students have organized and participated a series of business activities.

Movember & More

From inviting teachers to participate, designing posters, selling lottery ticket and trailer editing and event organization, Entrepreneur students presented BIS with a Movember & More assembly where everyone had great fun.

Plesstic Exhibition

BIS entrepreneurship students have formed a business organization which is categorized as a social enterprise. In today’s business environment, market, consumers and employees place a huge preference with businesses that prioritize corporate social responsibility (CSR). The BIS student-led business has put a lot of time and profits on CSR and they have organized a ‘Plesstic’ exhibition.

ASDAN Business Simulation

The ASDAN Business Simulation has been created in an effort to help the aspiring business leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow grasp a better logistical and strategic understanding of how to run a business. Our students had a great opportunity to experience ASDAN Business Simulation in our own classroom.

This semester, Boston International School is going to host ASDAN Business Simulation Regional Game for Eastern China. This is going to be the first-ever ASDAN Business Simulation held in the Wuxi area.

Business Competition with International School Brunei

Last year, our G11 business students had a 40-minute online business competition with International School Brunei Year 12 business students. The business students of the two schools competed for financial knowledge and skills. It was glad to see all students from two schools so dedicated and excited. They will get to know each other more because we will make the competition a routine at the end of each unit. Communication is a two-way street.
