A Letter to BIS Family

Dear all members of BIS Family:

Hope you are all doing well!

Currently, we are still under the extremely serious situation to fight against the epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus in China, which is highly concerned by each one of us. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, BIS Senior Executive Team (SET) paid close attention to the epidemic situation and focused highly on health of all members of BIS family. Our students, teachers, families and staff are from all over the world, the huge movement of people during Spring Festival and winter holiday for family reunion put much pressure for us to control the epidemic. To ensure that the life of all members of BIS family is safe and undisturbed in face of the epidemic, we would like to make the following suggestions:

Please have faith in Chinese government who is firmly fighting against the epidemic and the strong confidence we have to defeat it. Please keep yourself away from any rumors against science and facts. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Chinese government has been giving the highest level of attention to immediately established the emergency leading committee against the epidemic, and has taken the epidemic prevention and control as the first priority of the whole country. Many provinces and cities in China have launched the highest-level of control of public health emergency, which build up a strong and connected defense system to control the current coronavirus outbreak in the region. All members of BIS family should work together and follow the requirements from local authorities to control the epidemic; pay close attention to the official release of updated situation and epidemic evolution of the Chinese government, as well as from our local authorities.

All BIS faculty and staff members should follow and be cooperative to the epidemic prevention and control of the school. BIS SET team has established the emergency leading committee against the epidemic as soon as the outbreak and has been constantly releasing the most updated information to BIS community about our prevention and control measures and suggestions against the epidemic via email, WeChat groups and BIS WeChat account.

BIS faculty team should concentrate on preparing and implementing the E-Learning program. The E-Learning program is designed to meet the requirement for continuous development and growth of students during this special period. It should help our students to establish a good study routine, have a regular daily schedule and also provide them with knowledge of epidemic prevention, life education, public security and psychological health. At the same time, we encourage our students to take all the opportunities to continue physical exercise of all kinds to strengthen their body and protect themselves from diseases.

During this special time, it’s very important for the school operations team to ensure the school can continue operating safely and smoothly. BIS operations team should ensure the safety and health of all BIS members with considerate and careful prevention and control measures. They should keep communicating with all members of BIS family especially give prompt response to the concerns from foreign families and staff due to language barriers. They should ensure sufficient prevention materials and keep the campus strictly closed to outside. They should actively cooperate with and follow the prevention work deployment and requirement from local authorities.

We believe that no matter how tiny the light from each firefly, the convergence of the lights from a firefly team will brighten the dark night.In the face of this special time, we wish all of BIS faculty and staff can be one of the tiny fireflies, our hard work together can be the shiniest light to brighten our student’s life with our devotion and dedication to education.

All students should protect yourself, study as usual and continue workout. For every student, this holiday is going to be very special and unforgettable. You will have more time to spend with your parents and plan your days by yourselves. Challenge is also an opportunity; life is the best teacher. We wish our students can learn and gain more through this special period. Parent’s accompany is the best eduction, love offers courage and can never be separated. We wish our parents can take full advantage of this special period to strengthen the relationship with your children and let love fulfill your life.

In facing this sudden epidemic outbreak, we believe that with all members of BIS family working together, supporting each other and staying together with all people in China and around the world, we are sure to win this battle.
