We are thrilled to report on the great success of our International Day, which took place on Saturday, April 22nd. The event was a resounding success, with representation from nearly 30 countries and incredible turnout from the community. The campus was the busiest we have seen it so far in 2023. The weather was perfect for the event and the atmosphere was electric as we celebrated the diversity and cultural richness of our community.
The day began with an outstanding performance from our school orchestra at 10:30, which set the tone for the rest of the day. The Parade of Nations at 11:00 was a highlight, with students, parents and staff proudly showcasing their national dress and waving flags from all corners of the globe. The parade was followed by a variety of performances from students and external talents, including dance, music, and singing.
Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to sample cuisine from around the world at the Country Booths. The variety of dishes on offer was tremendous, and the quality of the food was outstanding. There were also a number of stalls selling handicrafts, clothing, and other cultural items, giving visitors the chance to learn more about different cultures and traditions.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the day was the way in which people from different backgrounds came together to celebrate our shared humanity. There was a genuine sense of unity and inclusivity, with people of all ages and backgrounds mingling and enjoying each other’s company. We believe that events like this are essential for fostering a sense of community and understanding in our increasingly globalized world.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making International Day such a resounding success, including our dedicated staff, our talented students, and our community of parents and volunteers. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Boston Parent Association for their tireless efforts in organizing the event. Their dedication and hard work made the day possible, and we are immensely grateful for their contribution.
We are already looking forward to next year’s event and the opportunity to showcase even more of the rich cultural heritage that makes Boston International School such a special place.
